Two Car Crash in Jefferson Twp.

Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood reports that on March 16th, 2016 at approximately 3:00pm, Deputies responded to a two car personal injury accident in Jefferson Township at M-62 and Osborn Street. Jessica Ann Stockwell, 43 years old of Eau Claire, MI, was driving her vehicle south bound on M-62, attempting to turn left onto Osborn. Sandra Diane Bell, 52 years old from Cassopolis, MI, was attempting to drive west bound on Osborn and failed to yield at the stop sign and proceeded into the intersection, crashing into Stockwell. Ms. Stockwell refused medical attention on scene and was transported by family to Lakeland Hospital in Niles for minor injuries. Ms. Bell was transported by Lifecare EMS to St. Joseph Hospital for minor injuries. Both parties were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor. This case remains under investigation.
