Indianapolis - The Indiana State Police are investigating the death of a woman inside the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Monument. Police and paramedics were dispatched to One Monument Circle around 5:33 p.m. on reports of a person down. The victim, 41 year old Jennifer Civitarese of Kokomo, fell on the steps inside the monument was was pronounced deceased on the scene. A Witness told investigators she fell down approximately 8 stairs to a landing. There is no foul play suspected and an autopsy will be conducted by the Marion County Coroner's Officer to determine the exact cause of death.
The Soldiers and Sailors Monument was closed for the remainder of the evening, however there are no restrictions outside of the building. There is no further information available at this time.
