Suspect Cody Smith is being held in the Steuben County jail on a preliminary charge of Murder. There will be no bond pending an initial hearing. Carly Carter was released with no charges at this time. The case remains under investigation.
Any criminal charge is merely an accusation. The Defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty
