On Sunday, March 6, 2016 at approximately 4:30 PM, the Grosse Pointe Farms Department of Public Safety received a phone call reporting a man was lying on the ground in the area of Voltaire Place/Vendome. Arriving units located the male victim who was lying on the sidewalk near his residence at 270 Voltaire Place. The victim had been assaulted and was bleeding, conscious and was transported to St John Hospital. The initial investigation revealed that an altercation had taken place both inside and outside of the residence. Michigan State Police are providing assistance in the investigation.

Update 03/07/15 @ 3:45 pm: Based upon evidence at the scene, the Public Safety Department does not believe there is or ever was a threat to the rest of the community in relation to or stemming from this incident.
