Indianapolis Colts Player Matt Overton spends the day with the Indiana State Police

Indianapolis, IN - Indianapolis Colts long snapper and law enforcement advocate, Matt Overton, is spending the day with troopers from the Indiana State Police Indianapolis Post.  Matt's father, retired Captain Tom Overton of the San Leandro California Police Department, now serves as a Sergeant with the University of California Police in San Francisco.

Matt has been very supportive of law enforcement, not just in Indiana, but across the country, and has used social media to promote positive actions of law enforcement that often go unnoticed.

In a recent Twitter post Matt said, "One day I hope to be a cop.... For now I'll just enjoy the ride alongs."

The Indiana State Police offers a Ride Along program to give interested persons an inside look at the day-to-day experiences of a state trooper. Anybody with an interest in law enforcement and wishing to participate in a ride along with a trooper should contact their local state police post. In order to participate candidates must pass a criminal history check, be at least 18 years of age, and be willing to sign a liability waiver.
