Advisory

Police activity in Linfield Oaks has ended. No action required.

At approximately 10:46pm, the Mountain View Police Department received a report of an armed robbery where suspects brandished a black semi-auto handgun at the teller and stole cash at the Liquor and Food Mart at 2339 California St. in Mountain View. Initial information indicated that the suspects fled in a white SUV or pickup truck. A responding MVPD officer saw a similar white SUV headed north on Hwy 101 and started following the SUV while waiting for backup units to arrive. Palo Alto PD officers arrived shortly thereafter and officers tried to pull the car over at Hwy 101 and Willow Rd. The suspect vehicle refused to pull over and attempted to flee from the officers. The subsequent pursuit went through the city of Menlo Park, where one of the passengers fled from the SUV on foot and into the creek area near Alma & Willow Road. The suspect vehicle continued a short distance further and stopped near the area of the 100 block San Mateo Dr. in Menlo Park. The driver and passenger attempted to flee but were quickly apprehended.

A perimeter was set up around the creek area where the first passenger fled. Officers from Menlo Park, Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, Los Altos, and East Palo Alto assisted in the perimeter and search for the suspect. Although the area was searched extensively by officers and K9 units, we were not able to locate the suspect. He was described as a white or Hispanic light skinned male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black and white tennis shoes. Anyone with information about this suspect is asked to call Mountain View PD Detective Beraha at 650-903-6344.

The driver and passenger detained near the 100 block of San Mateo Dr. were both arrested for robbery. Both have been identified as juveniles so we will not be releasing any further information about them at this time. We also want to acknowledge and thank the Menlo Park, Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, and Los Altos police departments for their quick response and assistance tonight.

Further follow up questions or inquiries should be directed to our PIO at [email protected].
