Residential Burglary Alert

The Ripon Police Department has received two reports of residential burglaries, and one report of an attempted residential burglary in the last three days.

The suspects modus operandi is to smash a rear sliding glass door, or to force open a rear window to gain entry into the home. The thieves are stealing a number of items including electronics, a child's battery operated ride-on car, jewelry, a purse, cash and credit cards.

The burglaries occurred in the 500 block of Sepp Ct, and the 200 block of John Kamps Way. The attempted burglary occurred in the 600 block of Anna Drive.

The department is urging residents to take the following steps to help protect their property: Activate your home alarm system by specifically activating your alarm motion sensors. Cash, firearms and jewelry should be secured in a large safe. Lock your side gate. Record the serial numbers of all firearms and electronics. Take current photos of jewelry.

If you see or hear anything suspicious call 911 immediately and report it.
