ROBBERY UPDATE
UCPD detectives, in coordination with Fremont PD, have made two arrests in the recent purse snatch robberies. Alexis Bostick, a 24-year-old Union City resident, and a 16-year-old male from Hayward, were both arrested for multiple counts of robbery, battery, grand theft, and possession of stolen property. They are responsible for 11 cases that we know of in Union City.

WEEK IN REVIEW

Criminal Threats:
On Monday, Feb. 15th, around 1:30 p.m., Ofc. Cushman was dispatched to a Union Landing business when a customer threatened to kill an employee. The suspect, a 55-year-old Union City resident, was located in the parking lot and arrested for criminal threats and violating a court order.

Burglary Tools:
On Tuesday, Feb. 16th, around 2:10 a.m., Ofc. Alberto observed a vehicle parked in a no-parking zone on Polaris Ave. He made contact with the driver and located two shaved keys in the vehicle. Shaved keys are commonly used to steal older model vehicles. The 56-year-old male, Union City resident was arrested.

Grand Theft:
On Feb. 19th, Ofc. Orlando took the report of a grand theft that occurred between 10 a.m. and noon on Wednesday, Feb. 17th. Someone removed five rolls of copper wire from a work truck in the 30500 block of Mallorca Way.

BURGLARIES AND CAR THEFTS

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
From Monday, Feb. 15th through Sunday, Feb. 21st, there were six reported residential burglaries and two attempts:
• 4500 block of Darcelle Dr.: Occurred between Thursday, Feb. 11th at 6 a.m., and Tuesday, Feb. 16th at 4:30 p.m. Two rear sliding glass doors were smashed. The residence was ransacked, and the loss included electronics.
• 1900 block of Travertine Way: Occurred between Tuesday, Feb. 9th at 7 a.m., and Tuesday, Feb. 16th at 5:30 p.m. The rear sliding glass door was smashed, and the loss is unknown at this time.
• 1800 block of Mirabella Dr.: Occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 16th, between 9:15 a.m. and 5:40 p.m. A side window was smashed and pried. The residence was ransacked, and the loss included jewelry and electronics.
• 4500 block of Laura Way: Occurred on Thursday, Feb. 18th, between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The rear sliding glass door was left unlocked. The loss included electronics, passports and cash.
• 30700 block of Tidewater Dr.: Occurred on Thursday, Feb. 18th, between 4:50 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The rear sliding glass door was smashed. The residence was ransacked, and the loss included jewelry.
• 32200 block of Ashley Way: Occurred between Thursday, Feb. 18th at 8 a.m., and Friday, Feb. 19th at 12:30 a.m. The rear slider was smashed, but no entry was made.
• 4500 block of Darcelle Dr. (attempt only): Occurred on Monday, Feb. 15th, at 11:20 a.m. The suspect smashed the rear sliding glass door, but fled before making entry.
• 4500 block of Laura Way (attempt only): Occurred on Friday, Feb. 19th, between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Someone attempted to pry open a side garage door.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES
From Monday, Feb. 15th through Sunday, Feb. 21st, there were no reported commercial burglaries.

AUTO BURGLARIES AND VEHICLE THEFTS
From Monday, Feb. 15th through Sunday, Feb. 21st, there were four reported auto burglaries and one attempt. More than half of the burglaries involved laptops and bags that were left in plain view on the seats or floorboards.

From Monday, Feb. 15th through Sunday, Feb. 21st, there were three reported vehicle thefts. As of the time of this report, one of the vehicles has been recovered.
