Steuben County will remain in a travel advisory status throughout the afternoon,evening and into the early morning hours Friday. High wind gusts continue to cause visibility and vehicle control issues in some areas as well as drifting of snow. The national weather service is advising that winds are expected to diminish over the night hours. State roads are open but wet in many areas. I69 is open with patchy wet areas. Secondary/county roads are open in many areas but still have patchy snow/ice covered areas as well as areas of heavy slush that can cause a vehicle to go out of control easily. Some county roads that are open are still narrow with high snow plowed banks and drivers should be alert for these locations and other on coming vehicles. State and County highway crews continue to clear the roadways in full force.
