Windsor PD arrests wanted man after he runs across the freeway
On February 24, 2016 at 10:32 AM, Windsor Police Department Officers were in a parking lot on Hembree Lane. They saw a wanted man with a pair of other people. When the Deputy was speaking with them, the man suddenly ran across the roadway and on to the freeway.
More deputies responded as well as Sheriff’s Helicopter crew, Henry-1, who was airborne within minutes. The man ran across all lanes of traffic and was then on the west side of highway 101. The Deputies chased after him and saw him run through a field and hide in a barn. Very soon Henry-1 was overhead and the man surrendered without incident.
The Deputies arrested Anthony Monda a 50 year old man from Hercules, CA. Monda had a No Bail warrant out of Contra Costa County for burglary and other related charges. He was successfully taken into custody in six minutes and no one was injured during the incident.
Monda was transported to Sonoma County Jail and booked for the outstanding warrant as well as a new charge of resisting arrest and misappropriating lost property.
