On February 21, 2016 at 1:28 PM, Pleasanton Police responded to the parking lot of the Stoneridge Mall, 1000 Stoneridge Mall Road for an armed robbery that had just occurred. The 63 year-old female victim was standing by her vehicle when she was approached by three suspects. One of the suspects grabbed the victim’s purse. As the victim pulled back on the purse, another suspect brandished either a rifle or shotgun. The victim fell to the ground and a suspect kicked her in the back before fleeing with her purse. The victim sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
The suspects fled the scene in a cream-colored Mercedes SUV. Witnesses saw the suspect vehicle enter westbound I-580. The suspects were not located.
All three suspects were described as Black males between 18 and 20 years of age with medium builds wearing dark colored jackets or sweatshirts.
