The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Investigation unit is releasing information pertaining to the Missing Person case involving Steven Mitchell.
During the course of the investigation into Mitchell’s disappearance a note was discovered. The note was authored by Steven Mitchell and made clear his intention to end his life. This information, coupled with all the other factors, led detectives to believe that Mitchell is not a victim of foul play. We have since suspended the formal search efforts.
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office will continue to work with the Mitchell family during this difficult time.
