(Etowah County, Alabama) An Attalla woman has been arrested for possession of a forged instrument, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Courtney Ann Bell, 24, of Attalla, is charged with one count of third degree possession of a forged instrument, a felony,” Lieutenant Robin Grant said.

Bell allegedly passed a counterfeit check while buying a $500 vehicle from the victim. The victim stated the false check was refused by the bank when trying to deposit the money.

Bell is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $1,500 bond for the forged instrument charge.
