LOCATION: 11100 block of San Mateo Dr, Loma Linda
SUSPECT: Christian Tressa, 23 year old male
VICTIM: 1-month old male
SUMMARY:
On Monday, January 25, 2016, at approximately 5:00 pm, deputies from the Central Station/Loma Linda Sheriff's Station responded to Loma Linda University Children's Hospital to investigate an immediate response CPS referral involving an infant with a severe head injury.
Central station detectives initiated an investigation involving the victim's biological father, Christian Tressa and the victim's mother. Tressa was home alone on Sunday night, January 24, 2016, with the victim and his other 1-year old son. The victim allegedly fell from a rocking bassinet, which was on top of an ottoman. The next morning, the victim has a visible bruise on his face. Tressa called the victim’s mother to come home. When she arrived, she wanted to take the victim to the hospital but Tressa did not want to. They finally took the victim to the hospital in the late afternoon and the victim was found to have a catastrophic brain injury, which resulted in the victim falling into a coma. The victim’s severe, multiple injuries were inconsistent with a fall from a short distance.
A coordinated investigation involving Central station personnel and Detectives from Specialized Investigations Division - Crimes Against Children Detail, led to the arrest of the victim’s father, Christian Tressa. Tressa was booked into the Central Detention Center for Felony Child Abuse Involving Great Bodily Injury Resulting in a Comatose State. Espinosa’s bail is set at $500,000.
