Rollover Crash Sends Young Woman to Hospital
Parke County—This afternoon at 1:12, Indiana State Police and Parke County emergency agencies responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash on US 41 near 7th Street in Lyford. The female driver was transported for complaint of pain.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2003 Chevrolet four-door, driven by 24-year-old Blair Webster of Terre Haute, IN., was northbound on US 41 near 7th Street. As she entered a left curve in the roadway, she failed to negotiate the curve and traveled off the north side of the roadway and rolled over onto the vehicle’s top.
Ms. Webster was entrapped briefly before being extricated by members of the Lyford Fire/Rescue Department. Webster was then transported to Union Hospital of Clinton for complaint of pain by Parke County EMS.
Off-duty officers ISP Master Trooper Ty Lightle and Dana Town Marshal C.B. MacLaren were at a nearby residence and responded to the scene after hearing the crash. The officers provided assistance until other first responders arrived.
Speed appears to be a factor in the crash and seatbelts were in use. Citation for speed too fast to avoid a collision was issued to Ms. Webster.
The crash was investigated by ISP Master Trooper Gary Winters. Assisting were ISP Sergeant Joe Watts, Parke County Sheriff’s Deputy Sergeant Brad McNeill, Clinton Police Chief Billy MacLaren, Rosedale Deputy Town Marshal Chris Newman, Lyford Fire/Rescue, Parke County EMS, and Clinton Ford Wrecker Service.
