Warden woman killed, relatives injured in rollover crash
WARDEN, Wash. (04FEB2016) – A 39-year-old Warden woman was killed and three of her relatives were injured in an early morning rollover crash north of Warden.
Azalia Perez was a passenger in a 1993 Ford Explorer driven by Alejandro Perez, 31 of Warden, when the vehicle slid off of icy Road U-Southeast just south of Road 6-Southeast around 2:50 a.m. today. The Explorer left the road and rolled 2-3/4 times in a field.
Azalia Perez died at the scene. Alejandro Perez was partially ejected, suffered critical injuries and was subsequently transferred to Providence-Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
Two other passengers, Yesenia Perez, 30, and Hector Perez, 34, both of Warden, were transported to Samaritan Healthcare in Moses Lake with unspecified injuries.
Deputies determined alcohol use played a role in this crash. The investigation continues by the Grant County Sheriff’s Motor Traffic Unit.
