****ATTEMPTED LURING INFORMATION****

On 2/4/16 at approximately 7:35 am, the Warren Township Police Department received a report that a 13  year old student was approached in his driveway by an individual operating a grey colored 4-door sedan (possibly a Toyota or Nissan).  The Individual was described as a light brown skinned male in his 50's wearing a light green colored shirt, black jacket with eyeglasses and a thin mustache.  While seated in the vehicle the individual stated, "your bus isn't here, why don't you get in my car?"  The student ran back inside the house and the incident was reported to the Warren Police.  This is an active an ongoing investigation.  The Warren Township Police Department are in communication with school officials regarding this incident.

 

Any information distributed earlier by the Watchung Police Department may have been inaccurate and premature.  Please refer to the information released by the Warren Township Police Department who is the investigating authority.

 

Please communicate to your children the importance of not speaking to strangers and reporting any incidents of concern.
