Full Notification

This afternoon, the Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office requested OSBI investigative and crime scene assistance in a deputy-involved fatal shooting. OSBI agents have been on scene for several hours conducting interviews and collecting and documenting evidence. Agents are working on locating next of kin of the deceased individual. His name will be released once next of kin is notified. The medical examiner will perform an autopsy on the man. Once OSBI agents have gathered the facts in the case, agents will deliver to the district attorney a comprehensive written report. The district attorney will determine if the shooting was justified.
