Press Release: CDS and Violation of an FRO Arrest

ACCUSED: Joseph W. Jasmin, age 32 from Asbury Park, NJ
NARRATIVE:
On February 2nd, 2016 at approximately 10:18am, Officer Raheem Carter was on patrol in the area of the Seaview Square Mall. While patrolling he conducted a motor vehicle stop and subsequently found that the registered owner of the vehicle had a protection order against the passenger, later identified as Joseph Jasmin. Further investigation revealed that the passenger, Mr. Jasmin violated the Final Restraining Order and was arrested. Jasmin was then transported to the Township of Ocean Police Headquarters for processing.
While at the station Officer Carter located a liquid which was later identified as a controlled dangerous substance on Jasmin which was believed to be liquid PCP. This is commonly known as “wet” where ordinary cigarettes can be dipped in the PCP solution, or loose tobacco or marijuana is saturated, dried, and or rolled into cigarettes.
Mr. Jasmin was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance believed to be (PCP) and violation of a Final Restraining Order. Bail was set at $10,000 by Judge McGoughran to which Jasmin posted bail and was released pending a future court appearance.
