HVEE Task Force will be out Super Bowl Sunday! Have a designated driver in your lineup!

The Sheboygan Police Department is asking for your help. Help us spread the lifesaving message that our community is serious about preventing drunk driving.  To prevent needless deaths and injuries from drunken driving crashes, our department will team up with other law enforcement agencies in Sheboygan and Manitowoc Counties for a High-Visibility Education and Enforcement (HVEE) Task Force.

Our deployment is scheduled for Super Bowl Sunday, February 7th, 2016.

The task force agencies will be putting more officers on patrol to stop, test and arrest drunk drivers. However, the task force’s primary goal is to keep people from getting behind the wheel while impaired-not to make more arrests.

Therefore, the task force will also focus on education and outreach in our communities to convince people that drunken driving is prevalent, deadly and entirely preventable. We encourage the use of the free Drive Sober Mobile App, available at zeroinwisconsin.gov.

The Drive Sober Mobile App assists individuals who may have had too much to drink find a safe ride home other than driving. It also serves to provide interactive information on the dangers of impaired driving which includes a Blood Alcohol (BAC) Estimator.
