(Etowah County, Alabama) An Attalla man has been arrested in connection to criminal mischief, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“James Timothy Kitchens, 42, of Attalla, is charged with one count of third degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor; public intoxication and unlawful breaking and entering of a vehicle, which is a felony,” investigator Tara Bates said.

On January 29, a 9-1-1 call was made reporting a suspicious person at a residence located on Sand Valley Road. The home owner called 9-1-1 after finding Kitchens, who he did not know, inside a vehicle at the property. Deputies Eric Hawkins and Drew Works responded to the scene and found Kitchens tossing and turning inside the vehicle. Kitchens told the deputies he was trying to get comfortable so he could sleep.

Kitchens is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $3,100 bond.
