SPD is now accepting applications for the 2016 CItizen Academy!

SPD is accepting applications for the 2016 Citizen Academy. This eleven week program begins Tuesday, March 15th, from 6:30-9:30 PM (Tuesdays). The academy provides citizens an opportunity to gain knowledge and a better understanding of the vision, values, goals, and operations of the Sheboygan Police Department.

APPLICATION DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 29th, 2016.

The Sheboygan Police Departments Citizens Academy is designed to be interactive and involves lectures, demonstrations, practical exercises, and an open floor for discussion.  Topics, to name a few, that will be presented by officers of the Sheboygan Police Department along with guest speakers consist of neighborhood policing, criminal investigations, victim’s rights, drug use within our community, and traffic enforcement. Additional activities involve hands-on participation, such as, high risk and low risk traffic stops, shoot-don’t shoot exercises, tour of the Sheboygan County Jail, along with firearms instruction and use at the range.

Light refreshments will be provided in class. Participants will be provided credentials, binders, and all class materials. There is not a cost at all to attend the Citizens Academy.
