Type: Sporadic Power Outages & Downed Trees

Synopsis:

High winds caused power outages throughout the city, downed several trees and activated a higher than usual burglar alarms. As of this writing the problem was still ongoing. The 700-1900 blocks of E. Plaza Boulevard remain without power and several downed trees are causing road hazards. SDG&E and city crews are working on the getting things back to normal. No injuries or property damaged has been reported reference this problem.

Type: Sexually battery of a minor

Synopsis: Officers contacted a 12 year victim at National City Middle school. The suspect approached the victim and touched her and asked her if she wanted to have sex. The victim ignored the suspect’s sexual advances and kept walking. Officers located a second victim at the school who stated the suspect asked her similar things. The suspect, was arrested near the school and booked into jail. He is a resident of National City.

Location: Main Street and Division Street

Type: Traffic Collision Involving a Vehicle vs. Pedestrian; Injuries Unknown

Synopsis: The driver was stopped at the above intersection for a stop sign. The driver was northbound on Main Street. The driver was looking in a southerly direction and did not see the two pedestrians standing at the corner. One of the pedestrians (a female) was struck by the vehicle when she attempted to cross the street. The vehicle was traveling at about one or two mph. The impact caused the pedestrian to fall down onto the street; she stood up, caused a disturbance and walked away. There wasn’t a marked crosswalk at the intersection. The pedestrian did not appear to be injured. Officers were unable to locate the pedestrian to check if she required medical assistance.

Location: 1835 Palm Avenue

Type: Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance; Taser Deployment

Synopsis: Officers were assigned to investigate reports of a subject on the roof of the residence. Officers arrived and heard someone breaking glass. An officer saw a male (21-year-old Hispanic male and resident) jump inside the residence via a closed glass window. The suspect was out-of-control and an officer deployed a Taser that was effective. The suspect sustained multiple non-life threatening abrasions and lacerations on various parts of his body. He was transported to Paradise Valley Hospital. The suspect admitted to ingesting PCP. No officers were injured.
