On 01/30/16, at approximately 5:06 PM, officers responded on a report of a physical fight and the discharge of a firearm.

On 01/30/16, at approximately 5:06 PM, the Menlo Park Police Department responded to several calls of an active physical fight between two subjects and a third subject who discharged a firearm, on the 1100 block of Henderson Avenue, in the City of Menlo Park. Upon arrival, Officers located a subject in a front yard of a residence who matched the description of the shooting suspect given by a reporting party. The subject who was later identified as Isaac Lopez-Valencia, a 51 year old resident of Menlo Park, was taken into custody without incident. During a search of the surrounding area, two loaded firearms were recovered. No subjects were struck by gunfire during this incident.

The two subjects who were engaged in the physical fight were also arrested at the scene without incident. Through further investigation at the scene, it was determined that both subjects had ties to rival criminal street gangs. The subjects were identified as Daniel Lopez, a 25 year old Menlo Park resident and Jhonattan Diaz, a 21 year old Menlo Park resident. Both Diaz and Lopez were booked into the San Mateo County Jail on battery charges. Isaac Lopez-Valencia was booked into the San Mateo County Jail on assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, exhibiting a firearm and possession of an unregistered firearm(s).
