On Thursday, January 28th 2016, around 7:00 P.M., Deputies, Fire and EMS Crews were summon to a plane crash in the area of Wood Ranch Road at Wood Road in the unincorporated area of Santa Rosa.

Once First Responders arrived on scene they discovered a small single engine airplane had crashed into a pasture. This area is somewhat rural and approximately two miles south of the Santa Rosa Airport (Charles M. Schultz).

Preliminarily, it appears the plane was traveling from Palm Springs to Santa Rosa.There was a pilot and passenger on board. First Responders declared both individuals deceased at the scene.

The incident will be investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board. (NTSB).
