The mission of the San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force is to further the identification, investigation, and prosecution of individuals or criminal enterprises who are committing crimes related to human trafficking and to facilitate the identification, rescue, and rehabilitation of victims associated with such activity. In recent years, it has been realized that many of the perpetrators of sexual trafficking violations are actually being forced into the lifestyle and are, in fact, victims. A paradigm shift has taken place, where along with traditional measures; law enforcement also provides victims with information, direction, and resources to free themselves from the physical and psychological confinement associated with the sex trade.
