If you live in Imperial Beach be aware of increased law enforcement activity in your area.
A SWAT standoff is underway in the 500 block of Florence Street. A man wanted in connection with a stabbing is holed up in a house and is refusing to surrender.
Only homes next to where the suspect is hiding have been evacuated. Calla Avenue and Cypress Avenue are closed. There might be other road closures in the area.
You might hear a Sheriff's Helicopter or ASTREA flying overhead making announcements urging the suspect to surrender peacefully.
