SNOW EMERGENCY in effect for Town of Yorktown beginning at 11 am today until further notice
Yorktown Chief of Police Daniel McMahon announces that a SNOW EMERGENCY has been declared for the Town of Yorktown (Westchester County) beginning at 11:00 am. The Snow Emergency will remain in effect until further notice. During a Snow Emergency, the only vehicles that are permitted to be operated on all Yorktown roadways are those that are equipped with one or more of the following:
Snow Tires
Tire Chains
Four Wheel Drive
In addition, NO PARKING will be permitted on any town road. Vehicles that are parked on town roads are subject to a summons and/or towing. Chief McMahon reminds all Yorktown town residents to avoid all unnecessary travel until the Snow Emergency has been lifted.
