As many of you already know, The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for this weekend with Elizabeth and surrounding Union County possibly seeing 8 to 12 inches of snow.

Reduced visibility, icy roads and significant snow may cause hazardous travel conditions. Please stay off the roads. If you must travel, use caution, drive safely and keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Forecast is calling for sustained high winds; please secure any items you may have in your yard.

If you live on a street where there are signs posted for "no parking during snow emergency" - please cooperate and comply. If you have a driveway, use it.

Please do not throw snow into the street - we need to maintain open roadways for emergency vehicles. In the event of an emergency please call 911.

If you lose power, you should report an outage by calling 1-800-436-PSEG (7734).

If you know anyone who is in need of shelter for the storm, the Second Macedonia Church in Elizabeth will be open from 6:00 p.m. Friday evening to 9: 00 a.m. Monday morning. The church is located at 1251 Fairmount Avenue in Elizabeth.
