Winter Weather Update 
-All Etowah County Schools will dismiss today at 1:00 p.m.
-Championship games for the Etowah County Basketball Tournament have been rescheduled. The games will be placed on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Gaston School beginning at 3:30 p.m. with junior varsity girls followed by junior varsity boys (4:45 p.m.), varsity girls (6:00 p.m.) and varsity boys (7:30 p.m.).
-Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 6:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016. Up to one inch of snowfall will be possible where snow bands are able to develop. Periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
-Wind Advisory is in effect until 12:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016. Winds will be 15 to 25 MPH with higher gusts of possibly 30 MPH. Stronger winds could take weak trees down as well as larger limbs. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
