Suspect was Involved in Traffic Collision that Resulted in His Arrest for Drunk Driving 

Suspect:                      

Ryan Wilbur, 31 years old, Petaluma Resident                             

Incident Summary:

On January 19, 2016, at approximately 7:43pm, Ryan Wilbur was driving his vehicle in a reckless manner in the area of Baywood Drive and South McDowell Boulevard.  Wilbur eventually collided with another vehicle head-on that was traveling on South McDowell Boulevard.  Wilbur’s vehicle then collided with two parked vehicles and came to rest in the front yard of a residence. There were no injuries.

An occupant of the residence exited his residence armed with a firearm.  The resident felt that Wilbur was attempting drive at him and he ordered him to stop, and exit the vehicle. The resident held Wilbur at gunpoint until police arrived. 

Wilbur displayed objective symptoms of intoxication and a drunk driving investigation was initiated.  Wilbur was found to be operating his vehicle while intoxicated.  He was arrested without incident.  Wilbur later submitted to a breath test, which revealed his blood alcohol level to be .40, five times the legal limit.

Wilbur was booked at the Sonoma County Jail and held on $10,000 bail.
