Elizabeth Griffin Promoted to South Zone Drug Unit Supervisor

 

Indianapolis, IN- The Indiana State Police recently promoted Elizabeth Griffin to the position of South Zone Drug Identification Unit Supervisor.

Griffin graduated from FJ Reitzz High School in Evansville, IN. in 1997 and attended Hanover College where she earned a BA in Chemistry in 2001 and a Masters of Natural Science in Applied Chemistry with an emphasis in Forensics from Southwest Missouri State University in 2007.

She began her career with the Indiana State Police in 2005 in the Drug Identification Unit at the Indianapolis Lab. In 2010 she went to work at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in the Drug Identification Unit until her return to ISP in 2012 to work in the Biology Unit. Griffin has worked in the Biology Unit until her recent promotion.

Griffin now serves as the South Zone Drug Identification Unit Supervisor.  She will supervise a group of ten drug chemists who are assigned to the Indianapolis and Evansville Regional Laboratories. Their job duties include performing analysis of powders, pills, plant material and liquids for the presence of any controlled substance as well as samples submitted from clandestine labs.

“We are pleased to have Elizabeth serving as our South Drug Supervisor,” stated Major Steve Holland, Commander of the Indiana State Police Laboratory Division.  “She has the expertise and experience gained from her work in various laboratory settings that will benefit her while leading this important group within our laboratory system. Elizabeth is well respected in the scientific community and will be a great asset to ISP in her new position.”

Elizabeth resides in Marion County with her four year old son.
