Sonoma County Coroner identifies man found deceased in the water near Lambert Bridge

On Thursday January 14, 2016 at 9:50 AM, Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office 911 dispatch center got a call of a person face-down in the water near Lambert Bridge in the unincorporated area of Healdsburg. The Fire Department entered the swift water with equipment and brought the person ashore to the Deputies and awaiting medical personnel. The adult man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man is identified as Elan Mulholland-Wynants, a 36 year old from Boulder, Colorado. He was visiting family in the area and they have been informed of his death. He was familiar with the terrain and there is no immediate information available regarding how he ended up in the cold waters of the rain-swollen of Dry Creek. There was nothing suspicious about the circumstances and Mulholland-Wynants did not appear to have been the victim of foul play.

The Sonoma County Coroner’s Office will schedule an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

Our condolences to Elan’s family and friends.
