Headlight Out Leads to Wanted Subject

New Castle – Last night Trooper Ray Otter stopped a car in New Castle for a headlight out only to find the driver unlicensed and wanted on a felony warrant for forgery.  The incident started last night shortly before 11 p.m. after Trooper Otter stopped a red 2000 Ford Escort at the intersection of G Avenue and Roosevelt St. in New Castle for a headlight out.

The driver, Kody Hicks, age 25 of Knightstown, gave Otter a false name.  New Castle Officers arrived to assist, and Henry County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Deputy Hall, who recognized Hicks from a previous arrest. Otter found that Hicks was wanted on a Felony Warrant for Forgery out of Henry County.

Further investigation revealed that Hicks was also in possession of a narcotic drug, believed to be Suboxone. Hicks was lodged in the Henry County Jail on the warrant for Felony Forgery, and also charged with Possession of a Narcotic Drug, Level 6 Felony.

Anyone with any information about illegal drug activity is encouraged to call the Pendleton Post at 765-778-2121, or the Indiana State Police Drug Tip Line at 1-800-453-4756. Tips can be made and kept anonymous.
