The City of Manchester receives $2.9 million from HUD for lead hazard reduction in homes

Lead paint affects public health. In response, the City of Manchester runs a program through the City’s Community Improvement Program (CIP) to ensure that these types of lead hazards can be professionally addressed using proper techniques. The City was recently awarded a $2.9 million dollar grant from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and is currently accepting applications from homeowners and landlords whose tenants meet the program’s income limit and fair-market rent requirements.

The program requires that the units be rented to income-eligible tenants at Fair Market Rents for a three-year period following the completion of the work. Income limits and rent levels are determined by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. These limits are provided on page six of our application materials, for your convenience. These materials can be found on our web site, www.leadsafemanchester.com . You may also reach our office by calling 603-792-6726.
