Narrative:
The Ventura County Sheriff's Office continues to search for Mrs. Dona Perry, who has been missing since the night of January 5, 2016.

On January 5, 2016, family members contacted the Moorpark Police Department and reported Dona as a missing person. According to family members, Dona was recently diagnosed with a serious medical condition (Alzheimer’s Disease). Dona was last seen by family members on January 5, 2016, at about 9:00 AM when she left her residence in the Santa Rosa Valley for scheduled appointments in Thousand Oaks, which she subsequently cancelled. On January 7, 2016, family vehicle was located near the Gridley Trail in the Ojai area. Sheriff’s Search and Rescue units have been actively searching for Dona in the area since mid-day on January 7th.

As of this Sunday afternoon, volunteer Search and Rescue personnel have devoted over 1,070 hours to searching the area for any sign of Dona. Units assigned to this search included: Search and Rescue teams from Ojai, Fillmore, and Thousand Oaks as well as the Search and Rescue K-9 team with five dogs, the volunteer Sheriff’s Mounted Posse, and several helicopters from the Sheriff’s Aviation Unit, including one equipped with infrared search equipment. Unfortunately, Dona has still not been located.

The Sheriff’s Office remains committed to finding Dona and will continue to work with the Perry family. Although the area in which she disappeared has been extensively searched, the Sheriff’s Office will continue with reduced search efforts in a limited but ongoing scale in the area of the Gridley trailhead. Anyone who may have or come across any information relating to Dona’s whereabouts is asked to contact Sgt. John Wright at (805) 797-7128 or the Ventura County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center at (805) 654-9511.

Dona Perry is a white female, 68 years old, 5’06” in height, 130 pounds, with gray hair and green eyes. Dona wears prescription eye glasses. It is not known how Dona was dressed at the time of her disappearance.
