*Update* #LASD Homicide Detectives Investigate Shooting Death of a Man, 2400 Blk East Ave R-4, Palmdale 
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man that occurred in the 2400 block of East Avenue R-4, Palmdale, on Saturday, January 9, 2016.
Detectives have learned that the victim, a 23 year-old male Hispanic, was walking in the 2400 block of East Avenue R-4 when he was shot by an unknown assailant. The victim ran a short distance, but collapsed on the sidewalk. He was then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Several witnesses in the neighborhood were interviewed and reported hearing gunshots.
Suspect information is unknown at this time. The investigation is still on-going.
