Cass County Sheriff Joseph M Underwood Jr. is reporting his deputies are investigating a head on crash that occurred on Middle Crossing St near California Rd in Silver Creek Township on 1/7/16 at 0711 hrs. The deputies stated that a vehicle driver by Anne Zebell, 17yrs old from Dowagiac, was East bound on Middle Crossing St. She lost control on the ice going across the center line hitting another vehicle head on. The other vehicle was being driven by Janice Murphy, 54 yrs old from Hartford. Janice sustained minor injuries in the crash and was transported to Lee Borgess Hospital by Pride Care Ambulance Service. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, air bags did deploy in both vehicles, and safety belts were used. The crash remains under investigation at this time. The Cass County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Sister lakes Fire Department and Pride Care Ambulance Service.
