SUSPECT(S): Jose Garcia, 24 years old and a 16 year old male juvenile

SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at approximately 12:13 p.m., the suspects, Jose Garcia, 24 of Victorville and a 16 year old male juvenile of Victorville, entered the Walmart on Amargosa Road and concealed several BB guns and make-up in a diaper bag. The suspects passed all points of sale and attempt to leave the store without paying for the concealed merchandise. The suspects were confronted by loss prevention associates and the 16 year old suspect pulled a knife from his pocket and threatened the loss prevention associates. Both suspects were able to escape in a black Honda Accord heading north on Amargosa Road.

Deputies were able to locate the suspect vehicle traveling north on Interstate 15 from Bear Valley Rd. and attempted to make a traffic stop. The suspects refused to pull over and a pursuit ensued, reaching speeds of approximately 85mph, while the suspect drove recklessly cutting in and out of traffic. The suspects exited the freeway at Palmdale Road and continued north onto Mariposa Road and then onto Palmdale Rd/Seventh Street. The pursuit ended in Victorville near the intersection of E. Sage and Seventh Street, where both of the suspects fled from the vehicle on foot. The sixteen year old was caught after a foot pursuit with deputies. Jose Garcia exited the vehicle, removing his one year old child from the rear seat and fled the scene in the opposite direction.

At 6:00 p.m., Garcia arrived at the home of a family member in Victorville and left the one year old child in their care. Garcia left that location on foot and remains outstanding.
