1 injured in crash

Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that on 1/4/16 his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash that occurred on u.s.12 near Gumwood rd in Milton Township. 34 yr old, Niles Resident, Ronnie West, was traveling on U.s. 12 when he was being approached by a plow truck. Mr. West advised that the plow truck was over the center line and that he moved to the edge of the roadway to give room for the two vehicles to pass. Mr. West advised that he lost control in the slush and running off the road and into a tree. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. It is believed that Mr. West was using his safety belt and that alcohol is not a factor. this case remains under investigation.
