Advisory

Hazardous Driving Conditions possible at the coast but likely near summit eastward starting early tomorrow morning.

A "Gordon" Special Weather Update: So ladies and gentlemen, what we have is an unusual system setting up. We obviously have a strong COLD dome of high pressure sitting over the area that is in the beginning process of weakening as we have a front and a developing low pressure system off to the west. The low will continue to develop and move north from off the coast off California, pushing in some high clouds over the area after midnight. There will also be some precipitation moving in and up from the south that could fall as snow, sleet, or freezing rain. It is more likely than not that what does fall will evaporate before it hits the ground here along the coast, sometime around sunrise until around mid-morning. In the coast range things could be a little more interesting. There you could see all of the mix, starting out as snow, then sleet, the freezing rain with light ice accumulations after about 1-2" of snow, starting in the morning and lasting into the early evening. The valley will also be included in all this so ALL travelers should check the weather and road conditions carefully before they set out tomorrow. If you do drive, just expect that driving conditions will be hazardous, this is the safest!

P.S. Another round of freezing rain is likely again for the Coast Range summit and it's eastern slope area, and over in the valley, Sunday night into Monday contributing to dangerous driving conditions ....again!
