I hope everyone is staying warm and safe! Please take time to read the message below about damage to property. Thank you and have a wonderful 2016!

On Monday, December 28, 2015, Judge Tom Head issued a Declaration of Disaster for Lubbock County in the wake of this historic winter storm. Due to the Declaration of Disaster we are asking citizens and businesses that received damage to their property during the storm to contact City Hall via phone (806.892.2531) or send an email to Adam Berry, Idalou Emergency Management Coordinator, [email protected], describing the damage to their property (please include before and after pictures if possible), estimated cost of repair, and if the damaged property was insured or uninsured. This information will be compiled into a summary that will be sent to the Lubbock County Emergency Management Coordinator and reported to the State. Below is the Declaration of Disaster issued by Judge Head.

In coordination with the City of Lubbock and Other Jurisdictions in Lubbock County, Judge Head is issuing a Disaster Declaration for all of Lubbock County.

This Declaration is being issued as a result of the overwhelming weather conditions affecting timely public safety emergency response from December 26-28, 2015 winter weather event.

Judge Thomas V. (Tom) Head has declared a state of disaster for Lubbock County.

The primary purpose for this declaration is to allow the County to reach out to the State of Texas for additional resources necessary to provide essential public safety services to the citizens of Lubbock County.

The declaration takes effect immediately and will last seven days. It is expected that the County Commissioners will renew the declaration during meetings next week.
