Fatal Traffic Collision
On Thursday December 17th, 2015 at 5:19 PM, the Gardena Police Department received a call of a traffic collision at Rosecrans Blvd. and Purche Ave.. Upon arrival, officers found that one motorcycle rider and a white Honda mini-van with three occupants had become involved in a traffic collision. Los Angeles County Fire arrived to render aide.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a Triumph motorcycle and a Honda mini-van were involved in a serious traffic collision on Rosecrans Blvd. at Purche Ave. The motorcycle was traveling westbound Rosecrans. The mini-van was traveling eastbound Rosecrans. When the mini-van began to turn northbound onto Purche Ave, the two vehicles collided.
The motorcycle rider succumbed to his injuries as a result of the collision. The identification of the motorcycle rider is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin. The driver and passengers in the mini-van were unharmed.
This investigation is on-going and is being handled by the Gardena Police Department’s Traffic Bureau.
