Incident: Two DUI/DL Checkpoints Planned In Petaluma Saturday Night
Locations: Petaluma, California.
Summary: The Petaluma Police Department will be conducting two DUI and driver’s license checkpoints on Saturday Night December 19, 2015 to detect and deter impaired driving and suspended/unlicensed drivers. The locations of the checkpoints will not be disclosed to the public.
These operations are being conducted to raise the awareness of the dangers of impaired driving during the holiday season by educating motorists, arresting impaired drivers and suspended/unlicensed drivers.
This operation is being conducted as part of the Office of traffic Safety STEP (Selective Traffic Enforcement Program) Winter Holiday Campaign that began Friday December 18TH, 2015 and ends Sunday, January 3RD 2016. Funding for these operations has been provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
