All LAUSD campuses closed due to a threat deemed credible by LAUSD Admin.
Los Angeles Unified School District schools were closed and all students already at school were sent home Tuesday morning due to a possible threat. So far, this threat has only been directed at LAUSD campuses. All other schools in the City of Gardena are open as usual.
Superintendent Ramon Cortines said the closure was due to "an abundance of caution" after the LAUSD received what authorities described as an electronic threat Tuesday morning. Details regarding the safety threat were not immediately available.
Gardena PD will be patrolling the areas around LAUSD campuses in our city and will be assisting LAUSDPD as necessary.
Instructions:
Parents are advised to make arrangements to have their children picked up, if they have already been dropped off at school. For any questions regarding the closure please contact LAUSD at (213) 241-2064 or at www.lausd.net
