On December 9th, members of the Compliance Response Team (CRT) were in the area of Oak St. and N. O St. in the City of Lompoc when they observed a wanted suspect driving a black Honda Civic. 25-year-old Sean Saggese of Lompoc is known to CRT and was wanted for a violation of his Post Release Community Supervision.
Prior to initiating a traffic stop, Saggese rapidly accelerated and drove recklessly through a residential street. Officers quickly began to pursue Saggese. Less than one minute later, Saggese lost control of his vehicle, struck a curb and immoblized the vehicle. Saggese fled on foot, leaving behind his female passenger, 24-year old Liliana Zuniga of Lompoc. The area was quickly contained and Saggese was arrested in a neighbor’s backyard within minutes.
The vehicle Saggese was found driving was determined to be stolen from the City of Lompoc. The vehicle was returned to the owner.
Saggese was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, felony vehicle evading and being a felon in possession of ammunition. Saggese was booked into custody on a no bail probation violation in addition to a $175,000 bail related to the new charges.
Zuniga was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. She was booked into custody on a no bail probation violation.
