Lieutenant Steve Brooks, Public Information Officer
On December 10, 2015 Lake County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Detectives served a search warrant at a residence, located in the 12000 block of Highway 29 in Lower Lake. The search warrant was obtained as a result of several cyber tips received by the Sheriff’s Office from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) related to the uploading of child pornography. NCMEC had identified over 100 child pornography images that had been uploaded from specific IP and Email Addresses.
Through an extensive investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 38 year old, Lee Daniel Buckmaster of Lower Lake. Detectives were also able to identify the Lower Lake residence where the images were uploaded from. Detectives seized several media storage devices, some of which contained videos and still images depicting child pornography.
Buckmaster was arrested and booked at the Lake County Jail for violation of California Penal Code section 311.11(A)-Possession of Child Pornography. Buckmaster remains in custody at the Lake County Jail. His bail is currently set at $200,000.
