SUNNYVALE, Calif. - On 12/11/15 at approximately 0500 hours, Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Police and Fire personnel responded to the area of Sunnyvale Saratoga Road and La Conner Drive on report of a major injury collision between a motor vehicle and pedestrian. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The pedestrian was an adult male in his 30's. The Santa Clara County Coroner's office has been notified and will provide the identity of the pedestrian when appropriate.

During the preliminary investigation, it was determined that two vehicles were involved in the collision with the pedestrian.  The drivers of both involved vehicles stopped immediately at the scene and have cooperated fully with the investigation.   There are no indications that alcohol or drugs are a factor. No arrests have been made. There are no crosswalks in the area where the pedestrian was struck.

During the investigation southbound Sunnyvale Saratoga Road has been shut down between Cheyenne and Homestead Road.  Please follow us on Twitter @SunnyvaleDPS for the roadway updates. The road is expected to be closed until 10am.
