On 12/10/15 at approximately 4:40 PM, a Walnut Creek Police officer, while directing traffic at the scene of an accident, was struck by a passing motorist. The impact of the collision forced the officer onto the hood of the vehicle then back onto the roadway, injuring the officer. The officer was transported to John Muir Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The motorist advised investigating officers that he simply did not see the officer when driving past the accident scene.
