Gary, Lake County-A semi-truck crashed and caught fire in the early hours this morning causing all west bound traffic to be closed at the 7.9 mile marker on I-80/94 and traffic diverted off at Broadway since 1:08 a.m.
All 4 lanes of west bound traffic on I-80/94 are reopened!! The far right exit lane is still closed.
INDOT engineers have declared it safe for traffic to drive under the Chase Street overpass but Chase over I-80/94 in Gary will remain close until further inspection.
There are still back-ups and long delays in this area please be careful if traveling near there.
